Recently, Chery Holding's Overseas Business Division officially commenced bulk shipment of its first batch of 100 all-electric and CNG Wanda buses for Mexico. These electric and CNG buses, purpose-developed for the Mexican market, will enter service in local urban public transportation. This marks a major milestone in the Division's efforts to deepen its presence in Latin America and further broadens the channels for China-Mexico economic and trade cooperation and green transportation collaboration.
Mexico's mountainous terrain, steep slopes, high altitudes in some cities, and hot summers pose exceptionally severe challenges to bus power performance, cooling and air-conditioning systems, and overall vehicle reliability. In response to real-world local operating conditions, the technical team at Chery Wanda Bus carried out dedicated localized development, optimizing the vehicles specifically for Mexican road conditions, climate, and local bus operating practices to create all-electric and CNG buses tailored to local needs.
In terms of power, the buses are equipped with high-power drive motors calibrated and tuned for high-altitude and slope conditions. Even at full load, they retain excellent hill-start and climbing capability. On steep urban grades and rolling mountain roads, they deliver strong, stable power output, effectively overcoming power loss under high-altitude conditions and fully meeting the high-frequency operating demands of Mexico's complex road network.
To adapt to the local hot climate, the buses feature a high-power, reinforced air-conditioning system, with targeted optimization of the air duct layout and thermal management strategy. Even in high temperatures, the cabin cools rapidly and maintains a stable temperature, creating a comfortable, cool ride. The vehicles are also designed to elevate the passenger experience, featuring air suspension and a noise-reducing interior to effectively absorb road bumps and reduce noise while driving, enhancing ride comfort and significantly improving the quality of urban travel.
This initial order of 100 units is an important achievement in the systematic overseas expansion of Chery Holding's Overseas Business Division. Leveraging Chery's global systems and capabilities, the project was carried out efficiently across the entire chain—from preliminary market research and customized product development to manufacturing, quality inspection, and export shipping. Going forward, the Division and Wanda Bus will continue to improve the localized after-sales service network in Mexico, building a service system covering spare parts inventory, technical training, and operation and maintenance support to ensure reliable long-term vehicle operation and provide customers with full lifecycle operational solutions.
Mexico is currently accelerating its green, low-carbon transition in public transportation, and market potential continues to be unlocked.
